A first year came into the great hall and looked around. He took a seat at the Gryffindor table but still felt almost nervous sitting there. Jonathan was one of the muggle students that had come to Hogwarts this year. He is the younger brother of the muggleborn Leon in Hufflepuff. This is easy to recognize for people who know Leon in any way. They were given the same middle name. It was a tradition in their family all the males had the same middle name. He scooped a small plate of food to begin with for breakfast. Leon had always complimented the food here at the school. Jonathan had to agree after his first bite of food, Leon wasn't lying.
He sat there and looked around as he took a few bites. He looked over at what he thought was the Hufflepuff table to try and spot his elder brother with no good luck and then checked the other tables as well. Jonathan had just sat by himself this morning as he ate his breakfast and had his pumpkin juice. He thought of everything that would happen this year. Leon told him that there were wizards here who didn't like muggles or muggleborns, those were more commonly Slytherin students than not and told him to stay away from them. Jonathan was glad to have his elder brother here.

Alec sighed as his eyes lazily traveled over many heads, towards the table that he constantly looked at, every time he was in the Great Hall. It was the Ravenclaw table, and though he was a Slytherin his twin, Alice, was in Ravenclaw. He searched for her earlier, but he couldn't find the shorter girl; it was like she was purposefully avoiding him. Well, now, she couldn't avoid him anymore, seeing as she had to eat breakfast too.
He smirked as he found her, talking to some other Ravenclaw girl from their year, helping her out with DADA it looked like. Alice was just too smart for her own good. Taking a last gulp of his pumpkin juice, he made his way over to the table, where Alice rolled her eyes as him, as her friend blushed. "Morning ladies, how are you today?" he smiled politely, taking the open seat next to his baby sister. "Yeah, don't act like you came here just to wonder how we're doing you big oaf," Alice muttered, pushing him away from her so she could have room to write on her parchment. "Aw, baby sister, I'm hurt," he smirked, placing a hand on his heart. Alice shrugged, "Serves you right. Bothering me when I'm studying, you of all people know better than to do that." She looked pointedly at him, then past him, towards the bloody Gryffindor table.
"Oh! He looks like Leon!" Alice exclaimed, eyes on a red head Gryffindor, sitting alone sipping on his pumpkin juice, eating breakfast. Though, at the moment, he seemed to be thinking about something. "Leon...? From the Hufflepuff quidditch team!?" Alec almost growled; yes, he knew who the chaser was. Alice looked at him, a slight pout on her face, "Yes, he looks similar to Leon, don't ya think Alec?" Alice did have a point, as Alec thought about the seventh year. The Gryffindor, though, was much younger than Leon Kennedy, the bloody Hufflepuff's chaser. "What of it?" it was his turn to pout, causing some eavesdropping Ravenclaw gossip girls to giggle and turn away, looking back at the duo once in a while.
Alice laughed, "Well, since we know Leon, might as well get to know his brother too! If it is his brother...he sure seems like it..." the brunette that looked like him pondered. His eyes locked onto the young Gryffindor, perhaps he'd be easily intimidated...? Alec shook the thought from his head, Alice sure would have his head if he were anything but kind to the first year, it seemed. He had no magic pulsing from him, so Alec knew he had to be a muggle...or a squib. However, seeing as Leon was a muggleborn, it was more likely that the Gryffindor was a muggle.
Alice got up, and made her way towards the Gryffindor table, smiling at random people as she passed. 'Alice is just too nice. It's a wonder we even look somewhat alike.' Alec got up and slowly, leisurely followed his sister, eyes darting from face to face at the Gryffindor table. As some Gryffindor's glared at him, he smirked and sat down beside Alice, who was already introducing herself to the Gryffindor.
"Hi, my name's Alice Matthews. This is my brother, Alec! Your Leon Kennedy's brother, right?" she asked, somewhat shyly, though she was the one to start the conversation. "Yeah, you're a muggle, right?" he couldn't help but ask. The next thing Alec knew, was Alice's elbow jammed itself harshly against his ribs. He winced and glared at his sister, who just glared back; "Sorry..." he muttered, rubbing his ribs gingerly. 'Yeah, Alice is definitely too sweet towards others for her own good.'
OOC: I hope you don't mind, Jess, if I put both Alice and Alec together...it was just easier...^^"

OOC: Not at all Leah, makes more sense in my mind.
Jonathan glanced at the two that had just come over to greet him. He waited a moment to pick them out and listen to the girl. It was already noticeable that she was nicer than her brother. Alice was her name and Alec was was his. "Nice to meet you, and yes I'm Jonathan Kennedy, Leon's younger brother and Jacob's much younger brother," he said. He was sure they didn't know much about Jacob though. He glanced over at the boy who made sure he was a muggle. He chuckled slightly when Alice got mad at him for asking the question. "I don't mind, but yes I'm a muggle, I don't go by the term, but I guess being around wizarding folk I have to admit I am," he told the male, "as you should very well know my brother's a muggleborn, so I know not else what I can be if not also a muggleborn, but no magic runs through these veins," he told him.
"So you know my brother?" Jonathan asked them, "how so? You know him and Jacob are well known in our small town, both compete in dressage competitions all around Europe, but they don't boast of it, Leon told me he was gonna teach me one of these summers." He idolized his elder brother. He didn't idolize Jacob as much. Now he looked back over at them and wondered more about how these two obviously pureblood wizards, as Leon taught him the names of the types of wizards, knew his muggleborn brother.

Alice smiled as Jonathan, he said his name was, talked about Leon, and appearantly an even older brother by the name of Jacob. He seemed to have more of a...shine in his eye when he talked about Leon, so Alice inferred that he cared much for Leon, though she wasn't so sure. Alec though, he seemed bored with the conversation, one of his hands figetting with his robe, which Alice knew hid his wand from view. She hit his foot in aggravation; couldn't her brother have some manners! It wasn't as if he didn't like muggles or muggleborns, but it wasn't as if he hated them either. They were just...muggles and muggleborns to him.
"Yeah, I met Leon earlier today; he startled me when I was in the library, didn't notice him until he started to talk actually." she smiled sheepishly. It was like her to get so lost in the books she didn't know what was going around her at times, and Alec rolled his eyes good naturedly. She nudged him playfully when she saw his action. "Let me guess, you were reading when he just suddenly appeared?" he teased, an eyebrow raised. Alice pouted, "Well, I was looking through some books...there is a difference."
"I'm on the Slytherin quidditch team; we're rivals on the pitch. Though Kennedy's a chaser, whilst I'm the seeker." Alec said, identical eyes as hers glancing around the hall, bored. Alice sighed, "They just know each other from the quidditch field...they've never really talked before...yet" she added as an afterthought. Alec looked at her questioningly, his eyebrow raised in that habit of his. She shrugged, but Alec clearly knew it as the 'tell-you-later' shrug. She turned towards Jonathan, "So, are you nervous for the next seven years? I mean, you are the first to actually complete all the years at Hogwarts." she said, thoughtfully. Alec smirked, "Yeah, having to be around magic when you can't protect yourself from it." Alec muttered. Alice glared sharply at him, pointing her wand, which she drew from her robes in such a quick fluid movement, at Alec. "Aleric Kane Matthews! Mind yourself; or would it kill you just to be polite for once in your life?" she threatened in a low whisper. "Heh, sorry to disappoint sis, but yeah. It will kill me, or you just might yourself...nah, your farr too kind for that."
Alice put her wand away, as gracefully as she pulled it out, "I apologize on his behalf; he doesn't know what manners are." she smiled apologetically at Jonathan. Changing the subject, purposefully, Alice seemed genuinely curious, "Are you going to the quidditch games when they start? To support your house, or your brother," at that she looked pointedly at Alec, "Or both?" she turned back to Jonathan and smiled, tilting her head curiously.

Jonathan still eyed the two. "Leon can be very quiet," he told her, "and you can call my brother Leon, I'm a Kennedy also," he noted looking over at Alec. He didn't know much of quidditch with the exceptiont hat Leon likes it very much and was chosen for the Hufflepuff team in his third year. "You should get to know him though, he's the best," he said with his eyes twinkling, "a good brother and a good friend." Then she asked him if he was nervous about the next seven years. "Wouldn't most of us?" he asked agreeing with Alec, "your brother has a point actually no magic, surrounded by it, I'm not usually scared of things, but I can live my life on a day to day basis here, and wait to know of what will happen, try not to be nervous," he said. He looked at her, "you don't have to be mad him for saying it," he told Alice.
He shrugged when she asked him about quidditch. "I don't know a whole lot of it, but I'll assume I'll support both, I've always been there to support Leon in everything, but I know that I would still like friends in my own house, Leon said some people get aggressive over quidditch," he told her. He shifted over and then took a bite of the breakfast still in front of him. These two were definitely siblings, it was all over the way they acted and the way they looked, but acting was more so. He could remember all three of them doing things like that.

Alec raised an eyebrow; was this kid trying to get himself hexed? He hadn't even talked for that long, and he already decided he was a nuisance. Alice, though, thought otherwise; seemed like she wanted to be friends with the little first year. She wanted him to try but Alec couldn't find it in himself to actually try to be nice. If he was nice, it was because he wasn't annoyed. Truth be told, he wanted to try and be nice; but, it just wasn't his thing.
"Oh, well; he asked if he could sit down first, seeing as I was taking up most the table with...my books," Alice admitted, blushing slightly and laughing slightly too. "Of course you were, let me guess; barely any room for him and his stuff? Or did you have to move to the ground?" Alec teased. He loved her dearly, yes, but he also loved teasing his ickle baby sister. It was one of his favorite hobbies to do so. Turning towards the younger Kennedy, Alec replied, "Right. Well, I prefer Kennedy if you don't mind. Not really a...close enough acquaintance to be on a first name basis, with anyone really." he shrugged. He never really called anyone by their first name, unless it was a female; he knew his manners, but not towards males. He just found males as 'friends' if you use the term loosely.
Alice rolled her eyes, though a smile tugged on her lips. "Oh, still, it was rude of him to say it...so bluntly. Could've been much more polite about it." This time it was she who raised the eyebrow at him; an in turn, he pouted, once more. "Still, how else was I supposed to bring it up. Besides, Little Kennedy here said it was fine." Alice sighed, defeated and shoved him slightly. "Would it kill you to use first names? Oh, wait, yeah, it will." she answered the rhetorical question herself, sarcastically as she looked pointedly at him. He gave her the same look, "You know it, or someday, maybe you're gonna kill me baby sister." he replied to the sarcastic answer.
Turning towards 'Little Kennedy' as he dubbed the first year, Alec raised an eyebrow. "So, you don't know much about quidditch, huh?" he repeated, slowly. Here was Kennedy Jr, younger brother of Kennedy, and he didn't know much about quidditch! Kennedy was playing for his team too; how could the muggle not know of quidditch if his brother plays it often? "Well, first off; there are four positions: seeker, keeper, beater, and chaser. I'm the Slytherin Seeker, whereas Kennedy it the Hufflepuff chaser. Kennedy is the one who scores the goals with the quaffle, the ball tossed between the players, into onee of three hoops. The keeper has to prevent the chasers from scoring in any three. The beater, has a bat. It's used to protect their own players from the bludger, a nasty bugger that one. They can also send it towards the other team, should they have good enough aim. The seeker is the one who ends the game and most likely winning it should they catch a tiny little golden ball, the snitch." Alec paused. That was the most he's talken to a lot of people in a while, he was surprised with himself. Talking that much, and about a sport nonetheless; it wasn't like him. Then again, he did enjoy quidditch; and appearantly Alice was enjoying the fact he was talking civilly towards Little Kennedy.
"That's basically the game; though it may not sound exciting, it really is. I just love watching Alec play; especially when there are many good flyers out there." Alice added, smiling brilliantly. "Yeah, that's all there really is to quidditch. Not much rules I guess. Just no overharming anyone." Alec grinned as he said this. Sure, it was a little...harsh, but what's the point of playing if no one's going to get hurt? That's the whole point of the bludgers, well, to Alec it was. It could've just been his mind, the harsh thing it was.

Jonathan kept his eyes on the male of these two. Alec didn't like him and wasn't going to try despite how much Alice wanted him, at least that was all Jonathan could tell for them. He listened to Alice speak and smiled, "well glad to hear he wasn't rude by just sitting down, mum always worried that he'd lose his manners when comming here," he said and then glanced at Alec again. Jonathan grinned again watching the two intereact.
Alec was the explaining quidditch to him. "Leon never discussed school things with us, said it wasn't that important, he never really got around to explaining that before I came here either," Jonathan noted to them. "I love my older brother, but he's not always one to talk about things he doesn't deem important, he doesn't boast either," he said, "he always thought coming here was kind of like an award, in so many words, he didn't want to boast that he was different, I guess you could," he tried to explain but couldn't get the words all the way out correctly. He then listened to Alice again speak about how much she liked watchin. "Well I'll have to give it a try when the first, game, happens," he said noting. He then looked back again and grabbed a bite. "I prefer my feet firmly on the ground though, Leon usually does too, that I know of, I wouldn't want to be on a broom," he said.

Alice looked between the two males; Alec wasn't trying to be kind or even friendly towards Jonathan, and it seemed the Gryffindor noticed. She knew Alec would have been like that, but she couldn't help but hope he'd actually be friendly. She knew how he felt, it was a wizard twin thing she guessed, but she couldn't help but wonder why he didn't just try harder. 'Maybe he's just not a friendly or kind type of person' a voice said in her head. She sighed, it was true, Alec was not that type of person; still, at least he didn't go off hexing Jonathan to the next century and back.
"Leon was a gentleman; he used his manners, unlike someone I know here." Alice grinned cheekily at Alec, who mock-glared in return. Alec then turned towards Jonathan, and Alice braced herself, preparing for the Slytherin's comments. "Muggles can play quidditch too you know; though I'm sure it will take a while for your lot to actually get good enough to get on the team first. Unless your a natural born flyer." Alice almost smacked him, almost being the key word. Sure wizards would have some trouble, but they also have the magical toy broom, that acts like a real broom for the wizard-child. "Oh, and don't worry about being afraid to fly; or not wanting to fly even," Alec grinned, and that made Alice wonder what he had to say; oviously it wasn't something nice, not that much he says ever is. "You can be no worse than Alice at that." With that Alice just smacked upside the head, a pout on her face as she crossed her arms.
"You can ignore that self-centered, arrogant prick who thinks he can fly." Alec cleared his throat, still rubbing his head. "Correction, who knows he can fly. Thank you very much." Alice gave him a shove and turned towards Jonathan.
"If you won't fly, you definitely should watch, then! It's the most amazing sight to see, quidditch." Alice smiled. She could see the brooms flying through the air, with the quaffle being tossed back and forth, and even the bludgers getting batted away from the players. The most exciting was the race for the snitch; especially when the snitch was in the middle of the field, where all the action was going on. "The flying is not that bad either; and appearantly this is something Kennedy and I can agree on." Alec added in. Alice smiled brightly, finally they were getting along fairly well, but with Alec's personality, she wondered how long that would last before he said another rude comment.
"Either way, though, it'll take a muggle a while to learn to fly like the quidditch players; so maybe in the stands is where you lot should be for now." Appearantly not that long...

Jonathan smiled glad to hear his brother was a gentleman. He glanced at Alec and leaned closer to him as well. "Well that I"m sure of, but I'm I don't plan to play a game that wasn't meant for me to play, I'm assuming my brother is a natural born flyer," he said, "but I'm not looking forward to any such thing." And he chuckled when she slapped Alec and leaned back taking another bite. Waiting to speak until he finished chewing he watched them.
He looked over at Alice, "I'll be there watching," he chuckled. He listened to Alec chime in and then speak about how long it could take a muggle to learn to fly. "You know I have a question, do you practice flying all year long?" he asked him, "have you been flying before you came to Hogwarts?" He grinned knowing he was beginning with a point. "My brother does neither, what I do know about him and quidditch was he was selected during his third year to play for the Hufflepuff team, he doesn't have a place back home where he can get on a broom and fly around playing, he doens't have any siblings of which he could do that with either, as you do here, you've had a one up on my brother your entire life, but you can't say that it only two you three years in the wizard world to learn to fly as it did my brother, you've been here the entire time, you've probably been on a broomstick since you were about five years maybe earlier, Leon's very sports oriented, mind you usually it's on the ground, with horses, not on a broomstick," he told him. He got his point across the best he could. He wanted him to realize that the muggleborn and muggles may have difficulties but can easily catch up to them. "You'd have a hard time in our world you know," he told him.

"That's great! I think I might watch a game with you, it'd be fun! Especially if it's Hufflepuff versus Slytherin; your brother against mine." Alice chimed in, when Little Kennedy said he'd watch. Alec smirked slightly, of course Alice would want to spend more time being friends with Little Kennedy, a Grffindor first year. She was really the only one he knew that was kind and sweet enough to actually hang out with someone five years their junior, that they had no relation to whatsoever. Still, it was what made Alice, well, Alice. When Little Kennedy turned to him and started asking the questions about his history with a broom, Alec raised an eyebrow.
Alec chuckled slightly; he was actually starting to like Little Kennedy, if only just slightly. "I've been flying a while, actually." he stated, a smirk on his face. "I never said you couldn't become a good enough flyer to make the team; just merely stated what many say. Muggles aren't used to flying, and it took Kennedy three years, in school to catch up. I'll admit that was a pretty quick time; but I'll also admit, very few muggleborns can do that." he heard Alice sigh slightly, and he grimaced. He hadn't wanted her to feel disappointed or anything, but that was just the way it ended up going. "You, Alec, are going to be the death of me, I swear it." Alice shook her head, glancing at him from the corner of her eye.
Alec put his arm around his baby sister, "Aw, come on; we're just having a conversation about quidditch, flying and muggles. You can call it...a debate" Alec grinned, ruffling Alice's hair. She pouted and fixed her hair, "Still, I'm sure Jonathan would appreciate you not going all 'pureblood' on him, hm?" Alice gave him a look that said 'say something else and I WILL hex you'. Alec shrugged, "Ok, fine. I won't talk about it. But at least he'll hear it now, rather than later by some other first year Slytherins who knows he's a muggle and related to Kennedy. Just warming him up for what's to come"
Alice sighed, "Sorry about him Jonathan, he's just...not the friendliest person here. But you noticed that, huh?" she apologized, smiling his way. Alec rolled his eyes; friendly meant manners, and he only used manners with females, seeing as he saw no point in being a gentleman with other males. "Yeah, sorry." Alec added his own apology, after Alice gave him a glare. "Oh! Jonathan; do you know what classes you have? Are any of them about the wizard world?" Alice asked, excited. Alec chuckled; it was like his sister to just suddenly get excited because of classes. Though, to say he wasn't interested would be a lie.
"Yeah, I heard there are some...muggle classes too. What are they? Math? Reading? Art Language? Something like that, right?" Alec didn't really care if he got any wrong, he knew he did. Alice giggled at him, "I think you mean Langauge Arts, right Jonathan?"
"You are right about one thing, Little Kennedy; I would have trouble in the...muggle world. If I got magic, I'm gonna live with it." Alec grinned; it's not like he'd ever need to live the muggle way for a while, though he did know some things from his Muggle Studies class. "Yeah, he'd be one of those confused people everyday if he were in the muggle world," Alice chimed in, giggling. Alec gave her a mock glare; "Just because you know everything doesn't mean I have to. I likeusing my magic, thank you very much" Alice giggled again, and turned towards Jonathan, a bright smile on her face. "I forgot! I'm helping out your brother with his DADA, Defense Against the Dark Arts class; would you like to come and watch? Since he's your brother I'm pretty sure he won't mind..." Alec raised an eyebrow; but didn't comment on it. She'd tell him later.
"So, has Kennedy done magic around you before, anyways? Though I'm sure the study session will be different anyways, especially if your working on defense. Gotta have something to defend yourself against." he turned towards Little Kennedy, and Alice rolled her eyes. "That's true, but hey; it's called practice for a reason. Your practicing your spell in case you ever have to be in a duel." she smiled slightly towards Little Kennedy. "Though I'm sure it'd be interesting to watch; magic can be interesting in many ways."
