Shortly after lunch and after Leon had found Jonathan, the two brothers, one elder one younger, made their way up to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Leon had sat his bag of books down and then glanced at Jonathan. Jonathan had spoken to him earlier that he had spoke to the girl and boy twins, Alice and Alec. They were all going to meet here in the classroom. Alice and Alec were going to help Leon with some of his defensive spells.
Jonathan tagged along behind his elder brother. "So these spells, why would anyone attack another?" he had asked. He wanted to know as much about the life his brother led when not at the farm but it was hard for Leon to explain. Leon had never wanted to explain that to his family, but now with his brother here, and the muggles knowing about the magical community more and more, day by day, he had to try and explain it to his brother.
"There's many reasons, same as when you get into your fights little brother," Leon told him, "someone pisses you off, you fight, same thing here, just spells can do some more damage than your fists, or other things you guys use." He spoke with great distaste of his brother's fighting. Even though Jonathan hadn't been greatly injured in the fights, Leon wasn't stupid, it was called backyard boxing or something or another, something popular in America, the boys in their town caught wind of it and they used more than just fists in their fights.
Jonathan sighed, "well are you going to tell me?" he asked his elder brother. Leon shook his head, "no I'm not, the only thing you need to know is it's like a fight, people attack others, it's the same in the muggle world and with magical world," he told him.
Leon was looking forward to seeing Alice again. He needed to get her to the side and talk to her. While they didn't end earlier on a bad note they hadn't exactly ended it on a good note either, and Leon wanted to tell her the answer to the question she asked earlier. He wanted to say her forgave her and that he still wanted to be friends, and he wouldn't do such a thing again. "Jonathan just sit down at one of the desks and we'll wait until they get up here," Leon spoke to his younger brother.

To say Alec was angry would be an understatement. Alice obviously wanted to avoid Kennedy for as long as she could; and that meant something happened between the two. When he finally cornered her outside the Ravenclaw Tower, he demanded answers. "Now, I wanna know what happened between you and Kennedy. And I want to know it know, Alice." Alice looked at him, avoiding his eyes altogether. She couldn't tell him, he'd seriously hurt Leon is he knew. Alec's overprotectiveness was fine, it was a very good thing until she actually found herself having a crush. Had he known what Leon did, even if it was on her forehead, without the two being together or anything, he'd freak.
"Nothing happened, ok!" Alice said, finally looking him in the eye. Alec narrowed his eyes dangerously, and the dangerous flash of anger in them made Alice cringe back. Alec eyes then softened when he saw his sister cringe from him. "Come on Alice, you can tell me. I promise I won't do anything you won't want. Come one, sis, tell me what happened." Alec said. Alice looked away, she couldn't. Even if he promised not to hurt Leon. This was something he couldn't get involved with, it was something between only her and Leon. "I'm sorry Alec, but it's just between me and Leon. I promise, when it's over, I'll tell you. But for now, it's just between Leon and myself." Alec sighed, running a hand through his hair almost angrily.
"Fine. But if you don't, I'm going to hurt Kennedy next time we have a practice. Ok. So I'm holding you to your word sis." Alice nodded, hugging Alec, "Got it big brother. Now, we don't want to be late to the study practice, do we? Come one, let's go" She tugged on her older brother's arm, so he staggered a bit before easily keeping up with her stride. They walked down the stairs, then went to the third floor. Alice tugged on his sleeve again, before hurrying towards the DADA classroom.
"Alec! Come on, we're late!" she called out to her brother. She may have been excited to get there, but she was also nervous. Their previous meeting hadn't ended badly; but it hadn't entered in a good way either. "Calm down Alice, I'm sure the Kennedys won't mind." Alec chuckled, though his eyes didn't show the usual happiness they did when with Alice. He was worried about her, and how she might feel. They were twins, they knew how each other felt; but she was trying to keep whatever happened between Kennedy and herself from him, something she never did. He was worried, and his worry usually led to anger.
Once they reached the classroom, they realized the other two were probably waiting; so Alice went in first. Sure enough Leon and Jonathan were waiting for them, with Jonathan sitting at a desk. "Sorry if we're late! We were...caught up in a conversation. Sorry." Alice apologized, smiling slightly at the two. Alec shrugged and sat at the closest desk to the door. "So, are we going to start now? And with what?"

Leon's eyes went up when alice spoke as she walked in. She had said she was sorry they were late. Alec took a seat and looked like he was ready to run for it. He also kind of looked like he was a little upset. Leon looked at him. "Alice said she believed that I should try Portego," he spoke softly. Whatever he was going to do, it would definetly not be to piss off Alec today. He glanced over. "Is that still okay Alice, we don't have to do this today if you don't want to," he said softly.
Jonathan watched Leon's face when the two came in. He didn't speak a word to either but gave a nod instead. He watched intently on his brother's reaction and listened to his words. He did something he's not proud of, he thought to himself. To Jonathan Leon was not acting his normal self around this girl.
Leon glanced over at Alec wondering why he looked even the slightest bit upset. Hopefully she didn't tell him. "So than Alice what would be the plan?" Leon asked her softly.

Alice smiled brightly as she saw Jonathan and Leon waiting for them; she couldn't wait to get the practice started. She figured she needed the extra practice too, just to stay on top of her game. Alice glanced at Alec, she figured that he would think the same. "Yeah, protego is fine. I guess it's really up to Alec, since he's the one who's mainly working with you on that," she shot a look at Alec, telling him to behave and take it easy. Leon said he hadn't been very good at the spell, and she didn't want Alec to actually try like it was a battle.
Alec rolled his eyes, but nodded towards his sister; she was too kind and gentle for her own good. Kennedy would have to learn the power of spells, especially if he wanted to make his protego stronger. "Yeah, that's fine I guess," he shrugged. Sure, he hadn't practiced his spells as much as he liked, but he also agreed to help Kennedy, something he wouldn't have done, even if it was someone else, unless it was Alice. He looked at Kennedy, and saw the weariness in his eyes when he looked at him.
Alec couldn't help but grin, 'Guess he's smarter than I thought. Though why would he be weary?' his eyes narrowed dangerously. He was going to watch Kennedy closely and judging by the look Little Kennedy, he hadn't known what was wrong either. Alec looked at Alice, who was looking at him expectantly; he sighed and stood up nonchalantly. "Well, Alice'll show how it's supposed to block the attack." he nodded towards his sister, and Alice smiled. "Yeah, it's just to show you how it should be and look."
Alice stood up and took her wand out, smiling as Alec did the same. They positioned themselves back to back, like a normal duel; but when they stepped away from each other, Alec almost immediately turned and launched a powerful "Stupefy!" towards his sister. "Protego!" the spell bounced back towards Alec, who just sidestepped the spell, which was reflected back towards his stomach. Alice looked at Leon and smiled, "That's how you do it. It's your turn," she motioned for him to step up, as Alec twirled his wand and smirked.
Taking a seat by Jonathan, Alice's smile faded for a few seconds. She wondered whether or not Alec would take it easy; if Leon's defense was truly not good, then he could be seriously hurt. "This is just a practice, to see where Leon is now," she felt as if she needed to add that part, just to remind Alec, "Ok, are you guys ready?" With a nod from Alec, Alice nodded; Leon needed to know the opponent wouldn't always wait for him to be ready, but Alice figured he knew it already.
"Begin!"

Leon nodded and then looked over at Alec. He figured Alec would play nice with his sister there. Alec agreed witht hat being fine. He glanced back over at Alice and watched her carefully. Alec mentioned them showing how it would be and supposed to look.
Jonathan watched Alec the way he looked at Leon. He watched him and tried to figure out everything. He wondered if Leon had noticed the way Alec was watching him. He figured he would keep his eye on Alec just in case.
Leon and Jonathan both watched them go ahead. Alec had obviously known where his sister was aiming, so he wouldn't a little more prepared that Leon would. Jonathan was more curious of the spells themselves than anything else. He was completely unsure of what would happen. He watched both the twins cast their spells.
Leon stood up and pulled out his wand and went up to Alec. He kept his eye on him and wouldn't allow himself to get distracted by anyone else. "Yeah I'm ready," he nodded. Then she said begin and Leon turned around taking a few steps from Alec keeping his wand at the ready.
Jonathan looked at Alice and leaned over. Very quietly he whispered, "what's going on with you and Leon?" He very much wanted to know what was going on. He almost needed to know.

Alec narrowed his eyes; something was going on between them, Alice and Kennedy that is, based on the way the Kennedy watched Alice. His eyes darted towards Little Kennedy, and he gave the muggle a slight nod in belated greeting. However, before he could glance at Alice, to see whether or not she noticed Kennedy's gaze, she sat herself on the desk and told them they could begin the practice duel. He turned and took a few steps, his wand ready to send an attack at the Hufflepuff chaser.
Alice on the other hand, was watching Alec intently, her wand ready to intervene should he do more damage than good. When Jonathan asked her about what was going on between her and Leon, she fumbled with the wand in her hand, almost dropping it. Turning towards him she laughed slightly, "There's nothing going on between us. It's nothing." she felt bad for having to lie to the youngest Kennedy like that, but she already decided it was between her and Leon, so until they figured it out, there was nothing going on between them.
While Alice was telling Jonathan that there was nothing going on, Alec was just itching to aim a petrificus totalus at the Hufflepuff, but decided to go with a simpler spell. It was a few moments after both had began to take steps away from each other when Alec turned and shot his spell, "Expelliarmus!" the spell flew quickly towards Kennedy. Alec had put enough power into it to make sure that Kennedy had to try on his protego spell, but not enough to make the spell break.
Alice watched intently, waiting to see Leon's protego in action. Alec had gone with a first year spell, the disarming spell. However, with the right power, the expelliarmus could knock an opponent down while sending their wand away. Alice wasn't sure whether or not Alec used that amount of power or not, but she knew he didn't give it his all, it was obvious, well, it was to her.

Jonathan grinned when Alice had fumbled her wand and leaned closer to her. "You know you're not the best of liars," he told her. He couldn't read but the fact she fumbled her wand showed she was lying. He watched her. "He's my older brother, I know him very well but he'd never tell me anything that had to do with girls," he said softly.
Leon watched Alec and Alec had sent off Expelliarmus and than he said, "Portego." It wasn't strong but was strong enough to keep him from knocking over. Alec had taken it a little easier on him because of Alice. If it was just them Alec probably would have sent it either much stronger or would have sent a much strong spell in general. He than stepped back and glanced at him. His Portego did not send it back towards Alec, which was what it was supposed to do, but he successfully blocked it. That he was proud of.
Leon turned for a moment, "I know we just got started but can we take a break for a moment, and can I speak to you alone Alice," he said looking over at her, "just need to ask you a few questions about something." Jonathan's eyes widened and now knew something was up. "I knew something was going on," he whispered in her ear.

Alice laughed nervously as Jonathan caught her in her lie."Uh, yeah. I'm not into lying. That's Alec's job." True, whatever had to do with doing something bad, whether it be attacking or lying, Alec was the twin to go to. When it was just something that would help, whether it be defense or being helpful, Alice was the one people went to. When Jonathan mentioned something about Leon not telling him about anything about girls, Alice blinked, "Well, maybe he just doesn't want you to start getting to that...phase....yet" she finished, awkwardly. She laughed slightly, due to it being awkward, and she just felt like leaving the awkwardness behind.
When she heard the Protego being shouted, Alice's attention immediately went back to the practice duel. Leon's protego was good enough that it just cancelled out the spell, but it didn't send it back to Alec, who was smirking. Alec started to walk leisurely towards Kennedy, his eyes dancing with something akin to danger. "That was pa--" Alice stood up, "Alec!" she interrupted him, glaring at him as she held her wand dangerously. She turned towards Leon, a smile on her face, "I think that was pretty good. Though it could be better. We'll work on strengthening it first, because should the spell have been just slightly stronger, the protego might have broke, since it didn't repel the spell." she said thoughtfully, putting a finger to her lips and narrowing her eyes.
When he asked for a break, Alec scoffed. When he asked to speak to Alice in private, Alec narrowed his eyes dangerously at the Hufflepuff. Alice jumped when Jonathan said he knew something was going on, but she was surprised that Leon wanted to talk to her alone. She didn't want the moment to come, it would seem awkward for her. Sending a warning look towards Alec, she nodded, "Sure, let's talk outside then, shall we?"

Leon looked over at Alec. He would have snapped if Alice hadn't been his sister. As he had spoke to Alice earlier he was very skilled at transfiguration and if he dare made another comment he might be turned into a squirrel. Leon wasn't scared of 'fighting in the hallway' as the Hogwarts rule had stated you couldn't do. He turned and nodded to Alice. "Thank you," he smiled and walked over to the doorway of the classroom and waited for her to walk out first.
Jonathan got up and went over to Alec. "She says there's nothing going on but she fumbled when I asked her, did she tell you anything?" he asked him. "Oh and Leon looked like he could have killed you just a moment ago, I think he likes your sister," he said. Jonathan was a little gossip to say the least. He looked over at him, "I think they may have done something they're both ashamed of earlier and that's what going on," he said softly.
Once Leon and Alice were outside of the classroom he walked slightly further to be away from any eavesdropping. He looked at her. "I want to be friends with you and also I want you to give me a try, I'm willing to do anything to be with you right now, and I mean anything," he said softly, "I know your family won't approve and I know you'll probably have a man selected for you next year, but I'm asking you for this school year to give me a try." He realized he was nervous rambling at the moment but than he looked up at her. Almost begging her. "And if you say no, again I would still like to be friends," he said softly.

Alice smiled slightly as she walked past Leon and into the hallway; something Alec didn't miss. He figured something was going on between the two, it was obvious and Alice even admitted it to him; but he just couldn't figure out what. He thought Alice would've been a little less...nervous? Yes, she did seem nervous to him, and he wanted to know why; she wasn't one who got nervous over nothing.
When Little Kennedy spoke Alec turned towards him with an eyebrow raised; "No, she didn't. She just said it was between her and Kennedy," his eyes flashed angrily. Alice never kept anything from him, but when it came down to Kennedy...as soon as the thought was in his mind, Alec clenched his fist. 'Why didn't I make the bloody connection earlier?!' he glared at the door, almost willing it to just explode. When Little Kennedy continued, Alec chuckled darkly, "Oh, I'd love to have a duel with Kennedy right now." 'Then we'll see who can kill who...bloody Kennedy...' When Little Kennedy said what he thought Alec scoffed, "Tch, Alice is the type of person who thinks before she acts. She was nervous about talking to Kennedy alone." No, Alice wouldn't be the one to be ashamed about what she done, unless it was very bad; which Alec highly doubted.
Once they got in the hallway, Alice noticed Leon step away from the door, as if taking the extra precaution to eavesdroppers. "So, what was it you wanted to talk about?" she asked, a slight smile on her face. She was nervous, but she thought it would be awkward for them, after all, they didn't exactly end their last meeting face to face. When he spoke, however, Alice was speechless; never had she had someone say that to her; sure they asked her out on a date, but they didn't say they wanted to be friends. Especially when they could've been more. Turning away from Leon, Alice paused, she didn't want to give him the wrong idea. Still avoiding eye contact, she stumbled to find the right words.
"I-I ...I don't know..." her hands shook nervously; she wanted to try it, to see if it would work, but she was scared of the answer. She was scared that it would work, then she'd have to pick a suitor that's not him. She was being selfish, and she hated it, but she was truly scared. She was hurt before; she didn't want to face that feeling again.
