Jonathan smiled to Alice and nodded but then looked back at Alec. "Took him three years to catch up to something that took you what seven or eight? I think that's pretty well done," he said and the chuckled at Alice's comment to him. "I'm nervous of going against magic, but I'm scared," he told Alec, "being a muggle has its downsides here, but we're able to survive. And your brother's not that bad," he added to Alice. Also nodding at Alec's apology.
The female then asked him of his classes. "Well actually most are regular muggle classes, Reading, which is what Language Arts is, Writing, Math, Science, Social Sciences, History, and then we also can take some wizarding classes, ones you don't need magic for, Potions, Astronomy, History of Magic, Herbology, and of course, they want us to do Flying like the rest of first years, so we'll do that as well," Jonathan said recalling the classes from memory. "Those are just what we can take now, Leon showed me the full list of classes they'll be offering now, I know when I get to third year I'll be able to take Ancient Runes, Care of Magical Creatures, Zoology, Spanish, Chinese, German, Japanese, Russian, Art, Creative Writing, or Drama," he said thinking of everything Leon had told him, "Leon said they would let us do Muggle Studdies, but decided not to because obviously we don't need to study ourselves," he chuckled
"The muggle world is nice, with the exception you can flick a wand to make everything do what you need it to," Jonathan said, "I learned how to do things with my hands." He showed them his hands even as an eleven year old they had calluses on them. "Working on a farm since you're able to walk gives a nice advantage over people who rarely lift a finger," he said. Alice mentioned something about Defense Against the Dark Arts. "Yeah I'll come, haven't seen him all day, he's hiding from me I think," he chuckled knowing very well Leon would never do such a thing, "but yeah I'll come and watch," he smiled.

Alice laughed, mainly because Jonathan said that Alec wasn't that bad. Surely, boys must have a different view of things than girls, because Alice would've felt slightly offended by Alec, should she have been in Jonathan's spot. "Oh, you're just being nice." she commented on the statement. Alec raised an eyebrow, "I'm not that bad? Well, I guess I'm getting soft. Can't have that, now can we?"
Alice laughed and pushed his arm away, since it was resting on her shoulder. "Oh, you guys are taking potions? Well, if you ever need help with that I'll be glad to help out. Even many wizards have trouble with that class." she smiled. Alec rolled his eyes, "Yeah, it's true. Potions is known as one of the most difficult classes; well, to everyone expect Alice." Alice pouted, "That's not...! Well, it is, but!...oh, did you have to say that?" she blushed. She didn't really like talking about her vast knowledge and skills in school; seeing as it made it seem as if she were bragging about it. Alice wasn't the type to do so.
"Oh, how'd you get those?" she gasped, once she saw the callouses on Jonathan's hands. Alec just raised an eyebrow, but otherwise didn't acknowledge the fact his hands were calloused, more so than an eleven year old's should be. "Just leave Little Kennedy alone, Alice. No need to go all motherly," Alec said before she could take Jonathan's hand and take a closer look atthe callouses. She blushed and pouted again, "I do not act motherly!" she protested, throwing a piece of toast at Alec that she got from the table. Alec glared and poked her side. She let out a small squeak as he found her 'weak spot'.
"Tch, anyways; you know anything about dueling?" Alec asked, his trademark expression on his face. Alice looked at Jonathan, that was a question she was wondering too. Her gentle, yet observant eyes flicked across the room, towards the Ravenclaw table. One of her housemates was beckoning her over, they still had her book. "Oh, I'll be right back guys. Gotta get my book." and with that she hurried towards her table; not wanting to leave Jonathan alone with Alec for too long. As if reading her mind, Alec called out, "Don't worry, I won't harm Little Kennedy...much!" Alice turned to shoot a glare at him.
"Is there anything similar to dueling for muggles?" Alec asked Jonathan, his cold, calculating eyes lighting up for a quick moment.
Alice reached her housemates, and grabbed the book from their outstretched hand. "So, what are you doing at the Gryffindor table? With your brother and that first year?" the one that had her book asked. Alice shrugged, "Just talking, why?" The seventh year Ravenclaw just shrugged, "Just wondering. Never saw your brother talk much." the girl blushed. Obviously she fancied her twin. "Oh? Well, I better get along; don't want to leave poor Jonathan with Alec for too long." and with that said, she headed back towards the Gryffindor table.
"So, I hope he behaved?" Alice asked, cheekily. "Yup, your a mother by nature alright" Alec muttered, only to recieve an elbow in his ribs, again. "Anything, I missed?"

Jonathan looked at him and her. "I grew up with two older brothers, we may love eachother but we're still brothers," he said, "I'm used to being picked on by people much older than myself, I'm okay with the way you speak," he told him. She then said something about potions, "well I'll be sure to ask if I need help," he said, "and I'm sure there's people in the school as good as you Alice, Leon said he knew a girl with an older brother that he was friends with, she's in Slytherin also, her brother said she's not bad potions," he said softly.
Alice mentioned his callouses, "well gardening, plowing, riding, feeding, when you work with your hands fromt he time you can walk it happens," he smiled. He rubbed his hands. "Leon doesn't do as much work except during the summers so his have become soft, I guess mine will do the same, but Jacob's and Dad's hands they're very bad," he said softly.
Then Alice stood up and Alec asked him a question about muggle dueling. "Well I'll assume that you do have, but we fist fight, and I'm not afraid to fight either," he told him. He smiled, "I'm not sure how your dueling works but ours leaves us pretty banged up," he told him. Jonathan had been in a few fights. Most of the families close to them had boys and they would get into fights.
The Alice had come back and he chuckled at her questions. "No nothing you missed," he said. She didn't know they were talking about his kind of dueling, she'd probably get mad at her brother.

Alec nodded; a Slytherin that was as good with potions as Alice. He had a feeling he knew her, but then again, he couldn't be quite so sure about it. "Heh, I know someone like that. Just met her recently. She is pretty good with potions." He thought about Jaylen; the fifth year Slytherin prankster that he made pranking plans with. "Oh! I'd love to meet her! I wonder if we could work on a potion together or something...?" Alice pondered, a finger on her lip in thought. Alec laughed, "Of course you do. But perhaps I'll introduce you guys someday. Then again I might not want to, two bloody brilliant minds in potions together? Scary thought" he joked.
He turned towards Little Kennedy, an eyebrow raised, "So, you got that from working on...what's that thing called, with the animals, and the...the barn?" he asked either one. Alice might know what he was talking about, but Muggle Studies doesn't exactly tell you everything about muggles. "Oh, um...Leon told me...it's called...a ferm?" she turned towards Jonathan. Even she wasn't sure, but she wasn't exactly taught about it. Kennedy just told her about it.
When Alice left to get her book, and Jonathan answered his question, Alec raised an eyebrow. "Fist fights? Really? As in you fight...with your fist?" the idea was interesting. It would most definitely help if you had no want. Alec thought back to the couple of duels where both duelers had lost their wands, and resorted to hitting each other. Was that a fist fight? Probably. "So, our dueling is basically a battle of intelligence, wit and reaction. It is pretty interesting to watch; like a fight would be I suppose."
Then Alice came back, and Alec sent Jonathan a grin; though it was a small, almost non existent one. "Oh, you don't have to leave her out. She's just as curious as I am about muggle dueling." Alec used the word dueling on purpose. Alice's eyes sparked, and Alec knew then that she was definitely curious. "Muggle dueling? Really now?" she asked, eyes flicking from Little Kennedy to himself. Alec smirked, "Yup; though they call it fighting rather than dueling. Little Kennedy said it left them pretty banged up." Alice's eyes widened, "Really? It's that harsh?" Alec chuckled at his little sister, "Yeah, at least I'm assuming, right Little Kennedy? How about you tell us about muggle fist fights, and we'll tell you about dueling, and all you need to know about it?" Alec proposed. When Alice was curious she couldn't get angry, she just wanted to learn more about the subject.
Though he wouldn't admit it himself, Alec wanted to know more about muggle fighting too; anything to do with dueling, even if it was a muggle version, which seemed a little more barbaric, caught his attention. That was one reason why he was so good at dueling and offensive spells.

Jonathan smiled and looked at them. "Sounds like you do have a scary thing on your hands," he told Alec with a chuckle. He smiled and looked at her, "a farm, not ferm," he said, "but yes you get that from working with your hands in general," he noted. Alec now spoke of the magic dueling, "well fist fighting is much more fun but you can get bloodied up pretty bad," he told him.
Alec mentioned to Alice what they were talking about. She seemed very interesting and he nodded. "I can explain it, I don't mind at all, it's actually quite simple, we get upset at another person, usually of your same gender, it's rude to hit a girl," he said softly from the male's point of view, "so anyways you really just ball up your hands into fists," he said as he took Alec's hands and balled them up for him. "Than you lunge forward and hit them, try and tear them up badly, girls are nasty fighters," he told them. "They pull hair, use nails, guys usually just use the fists," he said softly.
He smiled, "you show who's the man, in so many words," he told them. He wasn't as curious about wizard dueling, he enjoyed the way he'd always done it.

When Jonathan agreed with Alec, Alice pouted and crossed her arms. "You guys!" she smiled nonetheless. She liked Leon's younger brother; he reminded her somewhat of Leon, but maybe it was just her. When he corrected her she smiled, "Right, a farm." she planned to remember that. Farm, not ferm. "Working with your hands? Don't you muggles have...tools, or something?" Alec asked, his eyebrows furrowed together in thought. Alice smiled at him, he was warming up to the muggle, which was a good thing.
When Jonathan talked about getting bloodied up during, what muggles dueling was called, a fist fight, Alice blinked in shock. A wizarding duel did involve blood, but surely it wasn't as bad as the muggle way. "So, fist fighting, it's very dangerous?" she already knew the answer to that though; but she just wanted to know if it could be worse than a wizarding duel. "I think what Alice means is, would it be worse than a wizarding duel?" Alec rephrased her question. He was wondering the same thing.
"Ah, in a wizarding duel, it doesn't matter the sex of your opponent. You challenge whom ever you want..." Alice started, her eyebrows furrowed in thought, as Alec's had been earlier. "Though you usually challenge someone of the same sex. When your older, sometimes a duel is taken for the hand of a woman." Alec added. Alice nodded; that was how it usually went if two males both courted the same female; they would duel, and the winner, the proven stronger of the two, got her hand. Alice just hoped it wouldn't happen to her; perhaps Alec would challenge them to 'see if they were worthy' of her hand. She hoped so.
"I guess they are similar in many ways, wizard and muggle duieling." This just proved to her that wizards and muggles were not very different. "Yeah, but I have one more question about fist fighting; can you die during one?" Alec asked. Should she have been drinking something, Alice would have either spit it out, or choked on it. "If it's fighting, then I believe there are those dangers." Of course, she'd never really know, seeing as she'd never fist fought before, only dueled.
"Eh, still. Anyways, a wizarding duel is just people using spells, hexes, and curses at each other. Sometimes it is a duel to the death; othertimes it is just to show who is stronger." Alec began to explain the concept of wizard dueling. "Though there are some spells you can not use; some spells are just too dark to be allowed." Alice added softly, thinking about the three Unforgivable curses. Alec nodded, his face serious; the Unforgivable curses were something not many dared to even think of using, unless they wanted to go to Azkaban. "Yeah, but it ends when the opponent is disarmed or dead." A wizarding duel is not something many wanted, but should they ever get in one, they fought viciously.

Jonathan looked over at him. "Well of course, but the tools require hands to work them," he smiled, "I mean sure there's tractors that get the plowing done, but you have to put on and hook up the plower," he told him. They definetly had a lot to learn of the muggle world. "Well it can be dangerous, but rarely is, one person get's hit and the fight usually stops, but it depends, I mean sure you can beat someone to death," he said.
They began to explain the way that wizard dueling worked. "That's usually what a fight is about anyways, girls," he smiled. She mentioned that they were pretty similar and he nodded in agreement. He looked at them and then thought for a moment, "so you guys have spells that you're not even supposed to use?" he asked. That made almost no sense to him. Why even create a spell that you couldn't use?
He took a sip of his pumpkin juice. "You know usually I eat breakfast in a matter of minutes to go help dad out, but today I'm talking and eating so slow," he chuckled looking at his plate still full of food, "mom always said I was a vaccum cleaner." It really would look like he was a vaccum cleaner when it came to his eating. The food would be there, you turn your back and turn it back to the plate and it'd be gone.

Alec couldn't help but scoff at the idea of having tools, but having to use your hands with them. What was the point of that anyway? Still, before he could say anything Alice chimed in, "Oh? Then muggles must work hard then. Can't say the same thing about some wizards." Though he glared slightly at her, he couldn't help but agree. There were some wizards who let the magic do everything, even something Alec wouldn't do.
"So, if you beat someone to death; it takes more power, but time too?" maybe they could just hit the head or something, and kill them like that. Or maybe, they could just beat them until they stopped breathing. 'Definitely barbaric' He could tell Alice thought the same by the swift look she shot him. Alec smirked at Alice, when Little Kennedy agreed that many fights are because of girls. "Man, you girls. Always causing trouble where ever you go, hm?" she pouted and shot him a mock-glare. "It comes with the charm."
When Little Kennedy asked about the Unforgivables, Alec looked at Alice uncertainly. Even he knew that this was something the muggle had to learn from his brother, or from a trusted professor. It wasn't there place to talk about the Dark Arts, especially not with their family history. "I believe that is something you'll have to ask Leon about..." Alice looked at him to explain. "It's not our place to tell you."
However, the subject was changed by Little Kennedy, who was talking about his eating habits. Alec chuckled slightly, muggles had such a strange way of changing topics suddenly. "Oh? I know a few people like that; though they can't seem to use their manners at the table..." she pouted and crinkled her nose in disgust. "You're not talking about me, are you?" he asked, being dramatically shocked. Alice smiled and rolled her eyes, "Yes, your exactly who I'm talking about." Alec turned towards Little Kennedy, a hand over his heart dramatically, "Oh, how her sarcasm hurts me so." was his own sarcastic reply. Alice rolled her eyes once more, a smile tugging on her lips. "Though I really believe being a vacuum cleaner is much better than...being a garbage disposal. Disgusting, that one."
Alec laughed, "Yeah, can't seem to close their mouths if their lives depended on it." Alice nodded, before turning towards Little Kennedy. "So, Jonathan; what do muggles usually eat anyways, like the candy and all. Since we're on the topic of eating." she asked, eyes alight at the aspect of learning something new. The only thing they knew about muggle candy, was that they enjoyed chocolate too, and many of the same types of candy. They just didn't have the excitement in eating it as the wizarding candy had. "Surely there's got to be some fun in eating them?" he added, thinking about the chocolate frogs, and watching people try and catch them should they jump out of reach.

Jonathan nodded at his observation. "Much more power and time," he said softly. He laughed with Alec's comment. "They do," he said still chuckling. He couldn't believe that another male five years older than himself and him would agree on so much.
He watched the looks they'd given each other when he asked about the curses and he sighed. "I'll do so," he said softly. He wished they would have just said something about it. Explain it a little to him. But he couldn't force them to. They had to have had a reason on why the didn't say anything.
Jonathan looked at them and laughed when Alice spoke of Alec. He listened to it all. He smiled When she asked him of muggle food. "Well we eat what most people do, depends on the night though, but our candy, I'll assume that's different," he said softly. He thought of his favorite candy. "I really enjoy Nik-L-Nips," he told them, "they're juice inside little wax bottles," he said, "but mostly chocolate and cake." He thought. "There's other kinds, like candy that turns to gum," he said softly.

To say Alice was ecstatic would be an understatement. Alec and Jonathan were getting along well, and for that, she couldn't be more happier. Alec was finally being kind; though sometimes he seemed a bit unkind. She didn't even reprove him when he asked about the beating another to death. However, when she heard it she knew that Alec agreed with her on the fact that it was...barbaric. Inhumane. Whatever you wanted to call it. She didn't like the thought of continuing with the fighting conversation; so she was relieved when Alec changed the subject; though she thought he could've done something better than say girls brought trouble.
Still, when Jonathan asked about the Unforgivables, her relief quickkly went away. She wanted to say something, to inform him about, at least, why they were unforgivables, but she knew she couldn't. From the look they shared, Alec thought the same thing. Alice felt bad though, she was always wanting to know more, and yet here she was, denying Jonathan the ability to learn at least something about the Dark Arts. With a sigh, and a look from Alec, Alice spoke softly, "They're called Unforgivable curses. Ask Leon about them, but I'm sure he won't be happy with the question."
Alec nodded, "Kennedy most definitely wouldn't be happy. Just to let you know, you shouldn't ask anyone else but your brother about it. It's serious stuff." Alec was dead serious as he spoke to Jonathan, the coldness creeping back into his eyes. It was almost frightening to see Alec so serious about something; but then again, she was very serious when it came down to stuff like that too.
"Oh? Nik-L-Nips? Juice inside...wax bottles?" she looked at Alec, with wide eyes. "Who knew?" Alec rhetorically asked, seeing as both twins were surprised at the muggle candy. When he spoke about the candy that turns into gum, Alice briefly wondered if it were anything like the chocolate frogs; it it was a candy that did manage to change itself into the chewy goodness of gum. "So, it just turns into gum? Does it have to get wet first? Or maybe you put it on your tongue first?" Alice wondered how muggles did it. They had no magic, and yet they were creating many new things; like a Tele, something they learned from Muggle Studies. The class is nothing compared to the real world then Alice pondered, seeing as she still had many questions, and Jonathan seemed to be able to answer them all.
"Hm, maybe you muggles are more than your portrayed as" Alec muttered, eyes softening only slightly. Alice smiled brightly; Alec was warming up to the young Gryffindor. Perhaps, they'd end up getting along fairly well, at least, that's what Alice hoped.
