Jay sat on one of the stone walls against the side of the courtyard and watched students come and go. People watching was something she loved to do but at this moment she was picking through the people. Who were the weak ones? Jay eyed each person that walked by her. Classes were due to begin the next day and Jay had yet to pick out someone to prank. Now with the mix of Muggles and the regular students of Hogwarts, the new rules that had to do with the Muggles here, Jay just had no clue what she was to do. She looked and found someone, mudblood maybe, she could still pick on the mudbloods.
She pulled out a black notebook and began to write in it. What she knew of the boy, he was a first year so she knew a little. The notebook contained all her spells and potions as well as the people she would use them on. This notebook was priceless and at one time had been stolen. A first year when she was in her third and decided to get some guts and steal the notebook. Little did he know that it wasn't the smartest idea ever on his part, and that when she had found out it was him he would end up on the great hall ceiling for a few days. A strong levitate spell with a mix of a sticking charm that Jaylen herself had wrote up and put him up on the great hall ceiling, no one was able to get him down, and then when she finally thought he had enough she let him down. She'd gotten into big trouble for it but it was well worth it.

Alec was walking around; he had just visited the Potions Classroom, to see how it would look. Besides, the classroom was near the common room, so he figured he might as well see what lay in potions for the year. To say he was disappointed was true, he knew many of the potions they were to do, and he'd has expectations of doing more...difficult potions, per say. Still, he figured that he'd have fun working on the potions; there were some that he knew should be difficult for everyone else that didn't have a genius sister to help them out. A flash of brown caught his eye, and he looked in the direction, somewhat hoping it would be Alice. He noticed the uniform and raised an eyebrow at the Gryffindor that turned his way; she blushed and turned back around. With a chuckle he continued walking around, perhaps he'd go to the DADA classroom, but he decided to look for Alice first.
When he passed the courtyard, he noticed that there was a fellow Slytherin, younger than him, perhaps a fifth year, sitting against the stone wall, people watching. He raised an eyebrow again and made his way towards the Slytherin girl. 'A fifth year? Hm, isn't she the one who stuck a first year to the ceiling of the Great Hall two years ago?' He inwardly chuckled at the thought, it was quite funny, watching the boy struggle and freak out. Alice thought it might've been a little harsh, but Alec found it amusing. He leaned against the wall as he reached his destination, glancing at the students as they passed by. He picked out the muggles easily enough; they looked at the Slytherins with something akin to fear.
"People watching? Or perhaps there is something else going on, like maybe hanging a first year from the ceiling again?" he chuckled, an eyebrow raised as he glanced towards the fifth year next to him. This was one of the first times he had actually been the one to start a conversation with anyone besides Alice. Alec smirked as a muggle and her muggleborn friend hurried past, glancing at the two apprehensively and blushing. Both were in Hufflepuff.

Jay heard him approach her and then listened to him speak before even standing up. "You could very easily say a little of both," she smiled. She snapped her notebook closed and sat up straight. "Aleric right?" she asked. She moved her notebook into a bewitched pocket on the inside of a robe that would in short make it disappear. "But I'm not planing on first years on the ceiling, that was something that boy had deserved, maybe if he hadn't decided to take something that wasn't his it wouldn't have happened," she told him. She watched as groups of muggles and muggleborns go tentatively pass them. "Obviously this year Slytherins aren't supposed to be around each other," she giggled. She watched more people walk by, "must be up to something trouble some," she noted.
She had noticed that the muggles and the muggleborns had been staying together lately. Maybe they were friends outside of school Jaylen herself had known a one or two from younger days back in muggle school but she pretended not to notice at all. People had seemed a little on edge since these muggles were now here. "I have a hard time believing that they actually allowed them to join our houses, those muggles should be in their own," she told him as she watched two Ravenclaw muggles pass by.

Alec chuckled, "I prefer Alec, but yeah." He watched as another group of muggles walked by, watching the two as if they were actual snakes, ready to strike. He nodded, running a hand through his already messy hair. "With the way that the muggles and muggleborns are acting, you'd think that we were planning to curse them to oblivion or something," he shook his head, his hair getting even messier than before. He looked around, specifically for Alice. With a sigh, he realized that she wasn't around, and not wanting to be rude, he turned back towards the Slytherin.
"Jaylen, right?" he asked, eyebrow raised as he turned towards the fifth year. As she made the comment about the muggles and their own house, Alec nodded, surely the founders didn't want muggles into their houses. "Then again, at least none are in Slytherin. Merlin knows they wouldn't survive in our house." He couldn't help but chuckle as he thought of what might've become of the muggles in Slytherin house. It was for their own good they weren't in it, no matter how ambitious or cunning they were.
"So, what exactly were you doing earlier. A little bit of people watching, and a little bit of thinking who to prank next, hmm?" Alice would've figured it out before even talking to her; she was just that observant and intelligent. Alec shook his head, a smirk plastered on his face. It was a Slytherin smirk, one that made any non-Slytherin nervous, except Alice of course. 'I wonder how Alice is doing? She better be making an effort to talk to at least her housemates too. Otherwise, man, I'm gonna get her.'

"Well maybe not to oblivion," Jaylen added, "but that's our reputation." She watched him look around but this wasn't just to check out the scenes instead it was to look for someone. She decided to let it go unnoticed. "I prefer Jay but Jaylen is fine," she smiled. She watched them walk around, "if any of them were in Slytherin, as if they could be, they wouldn't be there for long, at least when Slytherin created the house he had the mind set to make it sure that they sorting hat would never let something like this happen to his house," she said. A group of Gryffindors walked past this group was made up of everything. "Obviously Hufflepuff would have accepted muggles, therefore that should be the only house they should be allowed in, but Ravenclaw and Gryffindor didn't specify," she sighed.
He asked exactly what she was doing before he came up. "More of the latter, planning is my specialty, the only problem is there's so many new rules with the muggles here, that I still have to focus on the mudbloods but they best not get any bright ideas, I'll spend forever in detention if they try to mess with me, muggles will not be able to get away with anything here," she rambled on. She then sighed and looked up at him with a smirk, "potions was exactly what I was working on, some homemade potion, unsure of what to use right now, there's a first year mudblood in Gryffindor that I want to use it on, just have to figure out how I'll do it first," she said and then blushed. She never revealed her plans anyone could use them against her and she glanced at him, there was something about him that made her want to talk. It was an odd feeling and she was unsure of why or what it was of him that made her want to.

Alec raised an eyebrow, something he did almost costantly around Jaylen, or Jay as she preferred. "True that Slytherin wouldn't want any muggles in his house, but barely any muggleborns get in, so surely no muggles would make it. However, even if Gryffindor and Ravenclaw didn't specify, Gryffindor is too noble to say no," he spat the word noble out, as he didn't believe anyone would be so righteous with no sins whatsoever. If anyone was dishonest, it was how Gryffindors were acting; as if they were always right and they could do no wrong.
"Ravenclaw would accept muggles, especially if they were smart. It seems only Slytherin made sure his house was muggle-free, though it might just be because no muggle is as cunning and ambitious as us wizards can be." he grinned, eyes glancing around once more for familiar brown hair. Once Jay told him of her pranking plans, he couldn't help but laugh. He hadn't meant to seem to laugh at her, but more at the fact that she seemed to have something against first years. "What, don't like first years or something? The first year by the ceiling, now a potion on a first year," he chuckled once more. "Well, good luck with that. Just don't get caught; don't want to get in trouble because of a first year again, do you?"
He smiled at Jaylen, something he rarely did to anyone but Alice. 'Speaking of Alice, I wonder where she is.' He glanced around once more, trying to find the identical eyes, and similar face. Shaking his head as many brown heads passed, but none were the head he was searching for. "So the potion's homemade, huh? Must be very good with potions to make one yourself." he turned towards Jay, an eyebrow raised and a smirk on his face.

"I'm just glad I'm a Slytherin, I wouldn't want to be noble at all, I'm very happy to be myself and where I'm at," Jay smiled, "mudbloods and muggles don't understand cunning and ambitions, they never will at least not from our wizard stand point." She then listened to him laughed and she raised her own eyebrows. "First years are surprisingly gutsy, that first year on the ceiling was his own fault, he took my notebook, something I don't want to get around to certain hands," she said she pulled it back out, "I try one every year, kind of to put them in line, that's how I've been doing it since that one took my notebook," she told him and opened it up. There was a nice outline of ingredients and a few already working potions in it. She turned to a page and showed him. This was a stronger version of your average boil giving potion. "This one was the simplest, just a few heavy modifications," she told him, "it takes about three weeks to clear, quite often longer." She said
She could still see him search through the crowd, "potions are my best thing, I'm okay with spells, just have to put more oomph into it, but potions are much more fun to play around with," she smiled. She looked over at him. "You've been looking for someone, anyone in particular, I've been out here for a while, might know where you can find them," she told him. She was glad to help him out.

Alec chuckled, it was a good thing that she was proud to be who she was and what house she was in. As she talked about her potions and about why she picked the first years, Alec nodded. Jay said she was 'okay' at spells, while potions were her best subject. It was like the opposite of him; spells were his strong point, whereas Alice always had to help him in potions. When she told him and showed him her black notebook, Alec raised an eyebrow. "This is a very nice notebook; no wonder the boy was hanging from the ceiling. If I had a notebook like that, I'd have reacted the same."
When she pointed out that he was looking for someone, he laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "Well, I was just wondering if someone was coming by. We usually do everything together, but I can't seem to find her," he explained, glancing around just once more, "But, I'll find her later. We're gonna fly together, though she hates heights." he chuckled as he thought of Alice and her fear of flying. "So, any reason why you chose to pick who your going to prank now?" He turned towards Jay, and eyebrow raised.

Jay smiled and looked at him, "yes yes you would have, what's in this notebook could get anyone in a great amount of trouble, plus they're secrets, only people with permission can have a look at others secrets," she told him. When he mentioned who he was looking for and rubbed his head, "family member?" she asked him softly. She smiled, "I'm not terrified of heights but I still do not like them, flying isn't one of my favorite things, in fact I can't wait to be able to legally apparate," she smiled. This past summer she had got her muggle driving license, her father had made her go ahead and get one. They lived in the middle of a muggle neighborhood, but still she'd apparated with her mother before and she liked the feeling much better than anything else.
She then thought about his last question. "Well I'm not saying he'll be the only one, but I pick him now because he seems the one with the most guts to try something, you scare the wits out of someone like that and others know better, but I'll still probably do a few more, people for some reason think I'm a little harsh, I disagree, they need a lesson," she told him. A lesson that they'll never forget, she added in thought. "I've been tempted to let a few others hand from the ceiling," she smirked, "there's one Ravenclaw girl, a fourth year half-blood that thinks she can get away with some things so maybe she'll learn something soon," she said, "I don't focus just on the first years, but they're easier, no clue what to expect. I have a reputation around here to uphold," she said softly.

Alec nodded, agreeing with Jay as she spoke about her notebook. It seemed she had her pranks in there, but it also seemed, to him, that she had some secrets in there too. "So, if that notebook is so important, why are you letting me see it? I mean, surely you'd like to keep it for your eyes only?" he wondered out loud. He wouldn't betray the trust she placed in him by even telling him about, let alone showing him, the notebook. "Whatever is in that notebook is safe with me, even though Alice may be a prefect."
"Alice, that's the girl I'm looking for. Her real name is Allison though, top of our year she is," he chuckled thinking about his beloved twin, "She's a downright genius; in Ravenclaw because of it." His eyes shone with love and pride as he talked about Alice, something they rarely do. "So, you ever prank any older students?" he asked, a mischivous smirk on his face. Surely he knew of a couple of Gryffindor's he would love to prank, and duel. Perhaps he'd humiliate them in both. "How about we put our wonderful minds together; I know of a few Gryffindors that need to be taken down a peg or two. One is a muggle, the other two are half-bloods; think they run our year or something." he muttered, before chuckling. Yes, he'd take them down a peg or two; and surely with Jay'shelp, the humiliation wouldn't end for a while.
That's what you get for messing with me and Alice.
