Break Before Classes {Open}

Jay smiled and made her way with him. "Some of us a very capable of protecting ourselves though," she giggled, "though we still enjoy the older brother protection." She watched as he led her to where he believed she was. When they go there she was there. Alec put his hand to her wrist and pulled on it bringing her towards a table with books all along it.

He spoke to Alice and introduced them to each other. "Nice you meet you as well Alice, heard some good things about you today," she smiled softly. She shook the girl's hand as well.

When he heard her comment about being able to protect themselves, Alec put a hand to his heart in feign hurt. "That information wounds me so. Us big brothers don't need to know that, in fact, we don't want to believe that. Where would that leave us then?" He chuckled inspite of himself, he wasn't really one to be dramatic, if anything.

When he saw the two shake hands, and Alice's curiousity in her eyes, Alec couldn't help but roll his eyes. Perhaps he should have waited to introduce the two. Alice, on the other hand, had a feeling that this was the one that was good in potions, the one Alec said he'd introduce her to earlier. "Oh? Well, I can't help but wonder; a Slytherin's definition of good, or everyone elses?" her eyes shone with humor. She smiled at Jaylen, just to make sure the Slytherin knew she was just teasing, mainly because Alec was the one who told her. Alec chuckled and raised an eyebrow, adding to the teasing atmosphere that somehow always managed to form whenever the two were together.

"Oh, you don't trust me?" he put a hand to his heart once more, "I praise you, Jaylen even said so, and this is the thanks I get, oh my dear baby sister, you wound me so." the smirk on his face and the slight chuckle that escaped him caused Alice to laugh. She shoved him slightly, "Uh, drama king." she grinned. Turning towards Jaylen Alice smiled, and motioned for her to take a seat. "So, Jaylen, what year are you in? I'm sure we would've met if we were in the same year."

Jaylen smiled and nodded. "You're brother speaks very kindly of you, in a non-Slytherin way," she giggled. Jay explored the girl's face and the way both of them looked at each other. "You also can call me Jay, either you prefer, Alec here has seemed to switch between,you can feel free to do the same," she said. She sat down accepting the invitation.

She laughed when Alice noted Alec being a 'drama king' and she nodded in agreement. "He is kinda isn't he," she said. She then nodded, "I'm in my fifth year, so that would explain why we haven't met, I really just began to talk to Alec this morning, even though I've known him through the house," she said.

Alec smirked as he saw the two girls laughing and giggling; he figured that they would get along fine, and they were. When Jaylen told Alice that he was speaking kindly in a non-Slytherin way, he smirked at Alice. "See? I'm not that big bad monster you make me out to be" When Jaylen said they could call her Jay Alec grinned. Alice smiled and laughed slightly, "Only if you prefer Jay over Jaylen."

When Jaylen agreed with Alec being a "drama king" Alice laughed along with her, and Alec pouted. "I disagree, thank you very much." He sent a mock glare at the two of them, before pulling up and chair and slinking sulkily into it. He crossed his arm, "I expect an apology from the both of you" though Alice couldn't take him seriously because he was smirking.

When Jaylen said she was in her fifth year, Alice nodded; she figured she'd be in a lower year, since she thought she'd have seen her in one of her NEWT level classes. "Oh, so you'll be taking your O.W.Ls this year! Any idea what you'll do good on?" Alice was curious about Jaylen; as she was with many people she usually met through Alec. Plus, she wanted to know what Jaylen's strengths were. Alec rolled his eyes but smirked, knowing what his sister was thinking. "If you can't tell," he spoke to Jaylen, motioning to the mess of books around the table, "Little Alice here is a bookworm."

Jay looked at her and smiled. "Jay is perfect, I do prefer it," she said softly. She laughed when Alec pouted and glared at them. "You say you expect an apology but you still act as a drama king," she giggled.

She than nodded to Alice, "I know I'll pass potions, I'm assuming I'll do good on charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration, but now that your brother mentioned it, I'm thinking of either going to work at St. Mungo's or as a Potion's Master at some school, hopefully here if I do go that route," she said, "I'm not sure if I'll try for Care of Magical Creatures or not, I probably should pass multiple places."

She glanced at Alec, "well I'm a potion's nerd, so I can't blame her," she noted, "so what did you decide to take for N.E.W.T levels?" she asked.
