Jaylen grinned from ear to ear and blushed as well. "I'm glad you think so," she said softly. She laughed when he spoke of the student who would make her angry. She nodded, "I guess I would have to learn to control that part of me wouldn't I?" she asked him. She did have an easy temper to get on.
Jaylen glanced down when he spoke of his dad being an Auror. If his dad knew hers it would be a given her father was a blood traitor. She didn't like the idea of him possibly knowing that. Even though Jaylen wasn't herself she did come from a family of such.
She nodded, "I swear no losing points for Slytherin," she giggled. She agreed with him they didn't need to be in negaives yet. Even though they would gain quickly she didn't want to be responisble for losing the points.

Alec chuckled, "Perhaps, or maybe you can show them whose boss. You would be the teacher. Just teach them a lesson they won't forget." He grinned at Jaylen, an eyebrow raised. He didn't have a temper, only when it came to Alice; but still, angry or not, Alec could be as calm as a cloud, but as dangerous as a basilisk.
When she looked down as he mentioned his father was an Auror, Alec couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Perhaps she was thinking about something; or perhaps it was something he said. Still, Alec didn't like seeing girls sad, perhaps it was because of Alice, or just the way he was a gentleman around girls he didn't know. He just didn't like them sad.
"Yeah; but no worries. Slytherin can catch up no time, right?" he chuckled. Perhaps it was a Slytherin pride, or perhaps it was just ego, but what ever it was, every house had it. Alice would certainly have argued that Ravenclaw would've won more points than Slytherin in a certain amount of time; and he would've taken her up on the deal. "So, seeing as Alice isn't here, we'll go hunting for her once your ready."

Jay smiled. "Yeah well I don't want to lose my job," she giggled. She saw his eyebrow raise and she sighed. She wondered if he suspected anything. She looked at him. "If I tell you something you have to swear to never repeat it to anyone else," she told him. She didn't want to but a lot of her conversation with him she hid her half her life from him. It was hard having a conversation with someone while hiding a fact.
"I'll tell you after you swear, and we can go find your sister while I tell you, I don't want to speak of it here," she said looking down the Slytherin table. No way would she disclose that type of information to an entire table of people who disliked muggles, muggleborns, blood traitors, etc. She needed to make sure if she spoke they were moving or well hidden. If they were moving people could hear it but only pieces and not be able to put two and two together, but being well hidden would have been better, nobody could hear them then.

Alec laughed slightly, "Of course; but who'd be daft enough to fire the greatest potions master since Severus Snape?" he grinned. When she asked if he could keep a secret, his eyebrows shot up, and he gave her a look of questioning. However, when she repeated it again, saying she couldn't say it there and he had to swear, his expression turned serious. His eyes narrowed slightly, and there wa a slight frown on his face. Finally, after observing Jaylen for a few moments, Alec nodded.
"Ok, I won't tell anyone. I swear on my magic" he said words he was so used to saying. It was something he said with Alice almost all the time. Though they may be twins and very close, they decided it would be best they both swear on their magic everytime they were to say something to each other, something no one else should know. It was like a ritual for them.
"So, let's get walking; that is if your done." Alec nodded towards her plate. He looked at Jaylen with a raised eyebrow, his eyes slightly narrowed as he wondered what could be so secretive that she had to say it in private. Surely it couldn't be that bad, but when he saw she was looking down the table, he realized it had something to do with the other Slytherins hearing. 'What could be so bad with Slytherins? Unless...'[/b] his eyes narrowed as he looked towards Jaylen. Wasn't it earlier that she was calling muggleborns mudbloods? Was that just a front, or maybe it had to do with something else, her family possibly?

Jay looked at him and stood up from the table. She smiled when he spoke his swear. "I'll hold you to it," she promised him. She waited for him to get up from the table and then began out of the Great Hall. She glanced at him. "I'll go on ahead and assume that you have an idea what I'm about to talk to you about considering where I can't speak of it," she said softly.
"You ask your dad you'll know immediately about my own father, my parents are blood traitors," she said as she made her way up the stairs. "I don't like the fact, I was practically raised by my mom's parents, or preferred to be with them," she said. She then looked down and paused. "My brother, Oliver Nemechek, you may or may not know him, he graduated here two years ago, he's a half-blood, I don't like my family, not many people here know that we're related because I don't allow that to get out," she said.
"I went to muggle schools as a child and pretty much live in the muggle world, we of course still use magic at home, but my parents are complete friends of muggles, we live in townhouses with nothing but muggles around us, so I'm ashamed where I came from," she explained to him. She looked at him and then looked down very ashamed of what all just came out of her mouth.

Alec nodded and stood up after her, "That's what I swear by with Alice; so you don't have to worry." Alec followed her out and listened to her talk about her family, following her up the stairs. His eyes narrowed as he nodded; his suspicions were correct.
"There's nothing to be ashamed of. I mean, it's your family; but you chose who you are." he chuckled slightly. It sounded cliche; or perhaps something Alice would say, though she wouldn't see a reason why Jaylen would be ashamed. Alice had an open mind about everyone though, she wasn't one to judge.
"Anyways, it's not like you agree with them. If your ashamed it says something, that you aren't like the rest of your family. Anyone could figure that out, right?" he felt like he had to say that. To get Jaylen's spirit back up. Alec seemed to tie bad emotions with sadness; he didn't like seeing girls sad, so he was a gentleman and tried to cheer them up, best he could. Once they reached the fourth floor, Alec turned in the direction of the library, placing his hand in a somewhat comforting way, on Jaylen's shoulder. If she brushed him off he wouldn't mind anyways, sometimes you just don't want the comfort.

Jaylen looked at him. "But as you can see, I have good reason to keep it secret," she told him. She looked at him, "I may not agree with them, but I resent them, I resent everything they put me through as a child," she told him. He had put his hand on her shoulder to comfort her and she looked at him.
"My mom's parents are much more like me," she told him, "they believe in blood, and everything it stands for." She smiled and looked at him, "thank you for not judging, and promising not to tell, Oliver was a Hufflepuff, one more reason I'm ashamed of him, he's a good older brother though, no matter how much I hate on him he still tries to protect me," she told him.
She then began up the stairs towards the library. She looked at him. "So you sure your sister will be up here?" she asked him.

Alec nodded; he understood where she was coming from, after all, in a time where muggles were being accepted by the wizarding world, and vice versa, one can not be proud of their family. Sure, he didn't disagree either, but he couldn't say anything about his family history; it was as bad as being ashamed. Alice was ashamed slightly by the fact that their family didn't have such an open mind; but she still loved them. Alec knew he still cared for them; he hadn't really found what he believed in anyways. He just preferred to follow Alice, and make sure she was ok.
"Heh, no problem. It's a secret for a reason, right?" he grinned slightly when she mentioned how Oliver, her older brother, was a good brother. "Hey, that's what we big brothers are supposed to do," he chuckled slightly; that's how he saw it, really. A big brother has the unspoken job of watching over their younger siblings, of protecting them.
He looked into the nearly empty library, and smirked. He knew her favorite spot by now; and he knew she'd be there, but if she wasn't, then she was in Ravenclaw tower. However, he had a feeling she'd be there, studying something or another. "Eh, I'm pretty sure. Let's check, shall we?" he asked, motioning for Jaylen to enter first, as he held the library door open.

Jay nodded and smiled. "Secrets are what they are, our house isn't exactly open minded on that side though," she told him. She was glad she knew someone who could knew more about her life outside Hogwarts. He was someone she could talk to. "I guess being a big brother is natural to men who are older brothers than," she giggled, "completely universal."
He held the door open for for her to walk in. "We shall," she smiled walking into the library and glancing around for anyone who looked like Alec in any way. She'd really never known either of them. She knew Alec but not very well just by passing. She looked at him. "Do you see her at all?" she whispered.

When Jaylen mentioned how their house wasn't very open minded about her secret, Alec nodded. He agreed, that many were too narrow minded about muggles and muggleborns; but he wasn't exactly fond of them either. He was just in the middle, deciding on the separate people he meet whether he would like them or not. Alice was in the middle too, though she tended to be kind towards everyone, especially muggles and muggleborns, mainly because she knows how badly some are treated; how some are hated due to their blood. When Jaylen mentioned the older brother being protective as a universal thing, he chuckled, "I guess so; but hey, it's our job, right? Who else is going to watch over you guys?"
Alec followed her in, and when Jaylen started to look around, he couldn't help but chuckle. When she asked if he saw her, Alec smirked in a knowing way. "I know where she is, come on," he grabbed her arm gently and led her towards the back of the library, in a secluded corner, near the Restricted Section. Sure enough, when they got there, he saw the familiar brown hair and open books and quick notetaking that he grew up with. Motioning towards Alice with a jerk of his head, Alec moved his hand to Jaylen's wrist and gently pulled her towards the book-covered table.
"Alice, I've brought someone who wants to meet you; and coincidentally, who you want to meet to." he chuckled. Alice looked up from her books, towards Alec, then following his arm to Jaylen's wrist, then to her face. Alice smiled brightly, always one to never give anyone a cold shoulder. "Oh, and who is this? I'm Alice by the way. Alec's sister." she stuck her hand out in greeting. Alec rolled his eyes at her question, but let go of Jaylen's wrist and motioned towards Alice, "Jaylen, this is Alice; Alice, this is Jaylen."
Alice looked at Jaylen with a smile, "Oh, Jaylen. That's a pretty name, isn't it Alec? Well, nice to meet you." she waited for Jaylen to shake her hand, her eyes curious but kind.
